Article 1 | This act is enacted in line with Article 20 of the of the Culture and Arts Reward Act. |
Article 2 | General Provisions: The National Culture and Arts Foundation (hereafter NCAF) has established the National Award for Arts to reward workers in the realm of culture and the arts who have made outstanding contributions and who are still actively creating art, exhibitions, or performances. |
Article 3 | Award Categories: Literature, Fine Arts, Music, Dance, Theater, Architecture, Cinema, for the total of 7 categories. |
Article 4 | Award Quota and Monetary Reward: A maximum of 7 honorees will be selected, and each honoree will receive an award trophy and a monetary award in the amount of NT$1,000,000. |
Article 5 | Prerequisite Criteria: Must be a citizen of the Republic of China (Taiwan) (for Individuals only). |
Article 6 | Prerequisite Process: 1. The prerequisite process is based on the two methods of recommendation and nomination. 2. For recommendation, NCAF will send official letters to invite referrers to make the recommendations. For nomination, candidates will be nominated by the nomination committee of each category. |

Article 8 | Forming of Committees for Nomination, Review, and Final Adjudication of Each Category: The committees for nomination, review, and final adjudication will be selected by the board of directors of NCAF based on the following criteria: 3. Final Adjudication Committee: Should consist of 7-9 committee members and will be responsible for the final adjudication. |
Article 9 | Judging Process: 3. Review of Each Category: The review committee of each category will review the information received for candidates on the shortlist. Candidates that receive 2/3 of votes from the attending committee members will advance into the final adjudication stage. Each category can only have a maximum of one candidate for the final adjudication. 4. The review committee of each category will write and submit a review report for the final adjudication deliberation. 5. Final Adjudication: The final adjudication committee will conduct the final adjudication deliberation. candidates that receive 2/3 of votes from the attending committee members will be qualified, and the committee will confirm the award shortlist and reasons for presenting the awards. 6. The award shortlist will be publicly announced after it is approved by the NCAF board of directors. |
Article 10 | Principles of Interest Disclosure and Confidentiality: 1. Members of the nomination, review, and final adjudication committees of each category shall abide by the principles of interest disclosure, and in line with the principles of being fair, rigorous, and confidential, the members cannot participate in the prerequisite process of the category during the time of their service in the committee, and the nomination, review processes and all related materials shall be kept confidential. 2. NCAF board of directors and supervisors and staff members are not be eligible for recommendation or nomination during their term of office and cannot serve as members of the nomination, review, and final adjudication committees. |
Article 11 | Recommendation Accepted Period: Recommendations are accepted every two years, starting on the date of the public announcement till June 30th of the same year. |
Article 12 | The regulations shall be implemented upon approval by the NCAF board of directors. Any amendments shall be processed accordingly. |
