To encourage outstanding, successful artists, NCAF established the National Award for Arts in 1997. Awards are granted to prominent artists in the fields of literature, visual arts, music, dance, theater, architecture and film who meet NCAF's exacting standards. Within the art world of Taiwan, the award has been widely acknowledged as the highest honor bestowed upon artists.
